Teacher Feedback on Pitch and Blog

Your pitch was good and eventually you were able to clearly communicate your idea, which I think is very visually striking. One of the key features of a successful music video is to be visually striking.
My feedback on your idea is that if you are going to use the frames idea, inspired by the bands website, then it is crucial that your storyboard details the intricacies of the action in each frame. To do a music video based around frames means that at any one times you could have 5 or 6 different scenes and so you need to plan in detail to ensure you have enough footage to fill these frames. It is also important that you carefully consider content, if you have 5 frames tht have a lot of things going on then it looks too busy and will confuse the viewer.
Your storyboard needs to clearly illustrate the different frames and your shot list will need to indicate how many frames are in each shot and what is happening in each individual frame. This will be a lot of work but if you pull it off then it will look brilliant.
Your blog is looking ok, you need to improve the visual aspect. You need to consider the following:
Props and costume lists (with visuals)
Locations list and visuals
Other videos which influence you.
Also there needs to be abit more detail and context to some of your posts, i.e. the album covers, are they real products, what do you think of them, how far are they conventional of cd covers etc.

One other current issue with your blog is the lack of address to your ancillary products. You must do some research into digipaks and magazine ads. You must also produce a sketch of your magazine ad and digipak, use either photoshop or sketch it out on paper and then upload it to the blog.

Your promotional package has the potential to be outstanding. Keep up the good work.

Lyrics - for Much Against Everyone's Advice

I
seem to have a history
at missing the point
at this stuff
apparently
very absentmindedly
I care
but never enough
for
you

TIME -to put the record straight
TIME -to stop communicating
please anticipate

AND I'M TRYING TO COMPREHEND THE THINGS I WRITE
AND I'M LIVING THE LIE THAT I CANNOT SATISFY
MUCH AGAINST EVERYONE'S ADVICE
I'M STILL TRYING I'M TRYING I'M TRYING I'M TRYING

faith
cheated me of everything
but I laughed until
I stopped
publicly
very, very openly
I sat alone with my thoughts
for
you

TIME-to put the record straight
TIME-to stop communicating
please anticipate

AND I'M TRYING TO COMPREHEND THE THINGS I WRITE
AND I'M LIVING THE LIE THAT I CANNOT SATISFY
MUCH AGAINST EVERYONE'S ADVICE
I'M STILL TRYING I'M TRYING I'M TRYING I'M TRYING

These are the lyrics to our chosen song, the writing in RED are the words that we are going to be spelling out on screen. We are going to spell out the title of our song within the video one word at a time and with each letter in the word being set in a different location and in a separate frame starting with "Much", then "Against", then "Everyone's" and finally "Advice", so through our video the title will have been shown, and at the end we are going to put the words one after another to illustrate that we had spelt out the songs title within the song.

We Can No Longer Cheat You By The Cribs

Are ideas for this music video are using narrative concept because this song has strong lyrics that tell a story so it would be easy to compliment the lyrics with the visuals which is part of the Goodwin, Are digi pack is going to be linked to the narrative of the track, the music video and the media magazine article

Soulwax - Much Against Everyone's Advice

This is the original music video for our first choice of song, Much Against Everyone's Advice by Soulwax. We chose this song because it gave us the most ideas about what we could do for our music video and was the type of music that we all liked best. Are main video idea at the moment is that we are going to mostly use the experimental style of music video. we are going to have this recurring theme throughout are digipak and the magazine advert. Our reoccurring theme is going to be different strips of frames throughout our music video, digi pack and magazine advert, in each frame. We got this idea from there website (See Below). One of our ideas is to have different letters in each frame that spell out some of the lyrics, each letter will be in a different location and different style.

Music Video Choices

Track 09... Soulwax - Much Against Everyone's Advice
We thought sounded more contemporary and upbeat than the other tracks. Appealed to our musical taste and thought that a music video could be created around it.

Track 05... The Cribs - We Can No Longer Cheat You
this song has a strong beat, it is a contemporary which is what we would listen to normely, and we think it would be good song to create a video for.

Track 06... The Hush Sound - Sweet Tangerine
this song has very strong vocals which would be easy to lip sink to, also has a strong narrative which you could base your video around.
